Archive for February, 2007You ready for your miracle? My boss sent me this bit of video. I have a very cool boss, and no, I’m not saying that because it’s time for my 60 day review. Timewasters…in the nicest senseHere are some sites I’ve been frequenting lately to pass the time: I’m always on the hunt for new and exciting things to look at. Anyone know of any good ones I’ve been missing? PhilinthecircleHere’s a video of a guy painting many images on his torso. Is it OCD-ish of me to become increasingly skeeved-out by the number of layers of paint? Tell me it gets easierArg. I hate planning. Parties. Events. What I’ll be doing next week let alone what I’ll be doing in September. Tonight we discovered that we’re going to have to change the date of the wedding for the third time. The whole process feels pretty discouraging. There’s definitely something to be said for eloping. Poor DingoYesterday was a tough day. I found poor little Dingo (one of our pet rats) dead at the bottom of her cage when I went to feed “the kids” before heading to work in the morning. We’re not quite sure what happened since we’ve only had her for about six months. Poor girl. Hopefully she didn’t suffer. Pancake (her cage-mate) seemed to be okay, although she seems to get increasingly lonely without her friend. When I went to feed Sumi, he could tell that something was wrong. Instead of trying to bite me for not letting him out, he nuzzled my hand. It’s amazing how intuitive animals can be. Sometimes they know just what to do to try to make you feel better. CinemaTourJust found an interesting site while surfing during my lunch break. CinemaTour shows locations of movie theaters (old and new) by state. Looks like a pretty decent list, but they really need to work at updating it. I know for a fact that the Lake Theatre in Clear Lake and Windsor Theatre in Hampton are alive and well. More like Flop DesignWe were watching Bravo’s Top Design last weekend, and one word came to mind: LAME. I think Derek’s comment said it best…”It looks like a really boring version of Project Runway.” Sure, some of the rooms the contestants designed looked nice, but no one, not the judges, contestants, host, had any sort of life to them. No personality whatsoever (okay, so one of the judges was a bit bitchy, but that’s not enough!). Don’t waste your time on this one. Last Sunday I lost two hours (yes, we somehow got suckered into back-to-back episodes) that I’ll never get back. I think I’ll stick to scouring the Web for inspiration instead. Devil in a fur suitSo…anyone have any theories about a certain rabbit (I won’t name names) who was previously well-behaved and now tries to wet on the floor any chance he gets? Arg. Whoops, etc.Been there, done that. File Magazine features a pretty interesting series of “Unexpected Photography.” An interesting bit of anti-war graffiti. And for Ben… |
