Renovation, retirement.

Last night the foundation that’s fixing up the Park Inn (the last remaining Frank Lloyd Wright-designed hotel) was giving free tours, so we took a peek. I’ve been curious about the place the past few years and was glad to finally get in for a look. I wish so badly that I could have taken some photos. The exterior is in great shape now through all the work the group has done, but the inside is still in varying states of decay. They’re planning to have the place up and running as a functioning hotel again in three years. They’ve definitely got their work cut out for them, but I can’t wait to see it.

On the walk home I took this photo:

Retired!

If I remember correctly from when I was little, it was the door for a barber shop. The sign and the texture of the worn wooden door made for kind of an interesting image, I think.
