I wouldn’t let them in
In the mornings on the way to work I tend to blare the local rock station in an effort to jolt myself out of a half-sleep-half-awake state. This morning I was stuck listening to the worst version of Bob Dylan’s “Knocking on Heaven’s Door” I’ve ever heard: by Guns n’ Roses. Wow. They managed to really mangle the heck out of it. Seriously. I know I heard it when it first came out, but I didn’t remember it being that bad. Axl was oozing his Axlness (is that a word? I can easily say I’ve never used that in a blog post before) all over it. Then, out of nowhere what sounded like a church choir is added toward the end of what I don’t even want to refer to as a “song.” I’ve never been much of a fan of Guns n’ Roses in the first place, but seriously, this was beyond awful. This would get a rating of no stars in my book. Eric Clapton, on the other hand, does a killer version of it, and he obviously understands the intended feeling of the song, to boot!
