Flood of 2008
I’m in shock. We’ve had a rash of bad storms and now a good portion of the town is under water. This photo is via the Globe Gazette.

Go here to see more photos. Derek and I have been extremely lucky. People were evacuated from their houses just a block or two from our place. So far there’s only a little bit of water in the basement. We were curious how a neighborhood fared where we almost bought a house last month, and it’s totally submerged. Wow. Just…wow. Thank goodness it didn’t work out. Right now, the entire city doesn’t have water for drinking, sinks or toilets. The water treatment plant is in a pretty low-lying area that was hit hard. I’ll post updates when more info is available.
Pork & Beans
Right now I’m listening to Weezer’s Pork and Beans on repeat while crunching on peppermints and drinking Sprite because it makes me happy.
Facing the idea of (potential) mortality is making me re-evaluate things a bit. I need to focus more on making the most of my days, making myself happy, than fretting incessantly about the bad things.
I need to listen to more good music. I’m digging the new Weezer album. It’s fantastic. It’s a mini vacation for the mind.
I need to continue to express myself creatively, even if I get a few odd looks.
I need to populate my Etsy shop with things that make me happy. Who cares if any of it actually sells?
I need to spend quality time with family and friends, rather than just watching t.v. with them.
I need to give my bunny lots of snuggles.
